Go shoppingThe Lost Kitchen
While staying at nearby Cove Valley, we discovered The Lost Kitchen, a delightfully rustic wood-fired restaurant in Chettiscombe, near Tiverton. The setting is a converted threshing barn fronted by an outdoor terrace which features tables nestled amongst the restaurant’s kitchen garden beds with views across rolling Devon hills.
A wide array of fresh, seasonal ingredients lead the menu of small plates, sourdough pizzas and larger dishes at The Lost Kitchen. The menu reads as nourishing and creative with an interesting bevy of salads, slow roasted meats, homemade dips and vegetable curries. The scallops accompanied with toasted fennel seed and nduja butter with delicious rosemary focaccia were a highlight of our visit.
The Lost Kitchen also hosts creative workshops including printmaking and ‘The Lost Flower Club’ for arranging fresh, seasonal blooms. It’s a beautiful spot to slow down for a few hours, whether that’s for cake and a creative pursuit, or an informal brunch or lunch with good friends.
