Glebe House

Glebe House is perched high on a hill overlooking the bucolic Coly Valley in East Devon, just three miles from the Jurassic coast. The 15-acre smallholding, restaurant and guesthouse is an ode to slow food and seasonal eating, adopting a farm-to-table ethos and celebrating the best of local produce. Thanks to the smallholding’s kitchen garden, set menus change daily, and breakfast is also full of surprises. The warm homemade malt loaf drenched in melting butter, served alongside homemade granola and Glebe House’s twist on a cooked breakfast, is a memory that continues to live rent-free in our mind.

The enjoyment of Glebe House lies not only in its spectacular surroundings and thoroughly good food, but also in its joyful, quirky interiors and warm hospitality. The rooms are full of interesting antiques and paintings, creating a home-from-home experience and a true celebration of craft.

Glebe House is a fabulous advert for the slow living movement and all it encompasses. To immerse yourself even further, book onto one of the many workshops or retreats on offer, and learn how to make fresh pasta or catch mackerel for a twilight dinner on the beach.
