Circa is a relatively recent addition to the Totnes restaurant scene, opening its doors in summer 2024.

‘Circa’ is a hint towards the restaurant’s circular ethos, brought to life through a menu of modern small plates which celebrate fermentation techniques and open-flame cooking. The restaurant seeks to waste as little as possible and is on a journey to developing their own fermentation lab, mushroom grow-room, kitchen garden and microbrewery offsite.

The 18th-century building hosts a paired back aesthetic with an inviting window nook overlooking Totnes’ popular high street. Circa’s dishes and cocktails are inventive and the team are well versed at explaining the processes and ingredients involved in their creation. The friendly hospitality and service is truly excellent.

Circa is a brilliant addition to this unique town, and boasts creative dishes to match the vibrancy of its location.
