Osip is a farm-to-table restaurant located in popular Bruton, Somerset. Now taking up a more rural spot, the restaurant was originally located within boutique hotel Number One Bruton. Here, where owner Merlin Labron-Johnson achieved a Michelin Star in 2021, visitors enjoyed impressive tasting menus using fresh produce grown on the restaurant’s own local plots of land.
Outgrowing the original 22 cover restaurant on Bruton’s high street, Labron-Johnson and his team relocated in late summer 2024 to the current location, a former 300 year old country inn. ‘Osip 2.0’ promises the same dedication to showcasing the local flavours of Somerset with style, plus exquisite, stylish interiors and gardens. Developing guest bedrooms is next on the agenda.
In a previous visit in early September, some of the dishes on our seasonal tasting menu included treacle and ale bread with smoked butter, chilled courgette soup with gooseberry jam, fig leaf ice cream, macerated blackberries and fig leaf oil and honey madeleines, cherry and meadowsweet.
